Help and frequently asked questions

Reviewed 19 September 2026

Short answers about technique, timer templates and local storage.

How do I find the movement?

Get comfortable and breathe normally. Imagine stopping yourself from passing wind. Gently lift inward and upward without pushing down, then relax fully. If you are still unsure, a pelvic health physiotherapist can help you find the movement.

What is the PC muscle?

The often-mentioned PC muscle is one part of the pelvic floor. Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles and connective tissue. LiftLetGo can guide the timing, but it cannot check whether you are using the right muscles.

Should I practise while urinating?

No. Practise away from the toilet. Do not stop your urine flow as a training exercise.

How often should I practise?

A short starter session helps you learn the sequence. How often and how hard to train depends on your needs. Follow any professional plan you have, and avoid adding sessions just to increase your total time.

When might I notice a change?

Think in weeks rather than days. If symptoms do not improve after two to three months of regular practice learned with professional guidance, seek further advice. Get help sooner for new or worsening symptoms.

What if I cannot feel the movement?

Do not simply squeeze harder. Review the instructions. If you are still unsure, a pelvic health physiotherapist can help you find the movement.

Is more practice better?

Not necessarily. Relax fully and allow time to rest. Shorten the session if you can no longer perform the movement comfortably.

Can the app treat incontinence?

Pelvic floor training can be part of treatment. LiftLetGo is a timer; it cannot identify the cause of symptoms or check your technique. Seek advice on the care that is right for you.

What do the timings mean?

The numbers are general timer templates, not a therapeutically validated dosage. A comfortable, clear movement and full release matter more than the countdown. There is no automatic progression.

When might strengthening be unsuitable?

General strengthening may be unsuitable if you have pain, uncomfortable pressure, difficulty emptying or relaxing, or new or worsening symptoms. Seek qualified advice and do not exercise through symptoms.

What applies after childbirth or surgery?

Your body continues to recover after childbirth. Ask your midwife, healthcare professional or physiotherapist which exercises suit you now. After surgery, follow your care team’s guidance. If you already have a plan, you can use the timer to follow its timings.

Do I need an account?

No. Settings and completed sessions are stored in this browser.

Why is an unfinished session missing from my history?

The history currently saves completed sessions only. It is still right to stop early when you need a break.

Where is my data?

Your history stays in this browser and does not sync across devices. Clearing website data or using private browsing may remove it. The history section lets you export or import a backup, or stop saving new entries.

Can I install LiftLetGo and use it offline?

Yes. Open your browser menu and choose “Install app” or “Add to Home Screen”, depending on your device. Public pages are available offline after a successful first visit. Updates load the next time you visit online.
